The bee attractor technique, is one that probably is used more in literature than in practice. The angler catches a honeybee or bumblebee, puts it in a covered glass jar, makes it angry by shaking it, and then places the bottle in the water tied to a pier.

The flittering and buzzing insect drives sunfish and other species crazy, leaving them readily catchable.

An alternative is to place minnows in a bottle to attract carnivorous fish such as bass. If you use the bee approach, it’s probably best to avoid the insect when you are finished with it.
