Lake Berryessa Camping. Lake Berryessa is one of California’s premier recreation areas, combining fine fishing with resorts, camping, water and jet skiing, and sailing. And it’s right near Napa Valley’s wine country.
Traditionally, trout (rainbow and browns) fishing has been the main draw for anglers at Lake Berryessa. Many trout in the 2 to 3 pound class are taken, and 5 pounders are not that unusual.
But Lake Berryessa also boasts Florida-strain largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, Alabama spotted bass, crappie, catfish and bluegill.
Lake Berryessa Camping
The lake and its facilities are open all year. In total there are over 1200 campsites in the vicinity, and houseboats are available at some resorts. Lake Berryessa is nestled in a low and hidden valley between two spurs of the Coastal Range.
It has more miles of shoreline than massive Lake Tahoe.
